GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y.—REC SPECS, the sports eyewear brand which is marking its 30th anniversary this year, took to the fields with the kids of The Gloversville Little League at the legendary Parkhurst Field here this spring.

REC SPECS, the original American sports eyewear brand, relied upon ECPs to regularly support initiatives “to motivate the youth of America to be involved in team sports, participate in yearly eye exams, educate parents and children of the importance of vision protection and sports, and to fight the growing concerns over childhood obesity by promoting active lifestyles,” the company said, adding that it was “proud to continue our relationship with the historic Gloversville Little League and Parkhurst Field.”

The Gloversville Little League organization was created in a joint collaboration between the Gloversville Rotary Club and the Gloversville Catholic War Veterans organization and plays all of its games at historic Parkhurst Field. Parkhurst Field was created in 1906 as a professional baseball facility and has featured dozens of future and former Major League players, as well as turn of the century barnstorming Major League teams who played against local town teams.

REC SPECS began as the first prescription protective sports eyewear in 1980 and ECPs rely on its patented frame technology, contemporary style and comfortable fit, with its protective sports products designed and tested for a range of activities. REC SPECS Projective Sports Eyewear is a Halo Sport brand, distributed to the optical trade by Liberty Sport, committed to the mission of reducing the number of avoidable eye injuries that occur in today’s sports and recreational environments.
