STYLE Seeing Red, White and Blue as American Brands Randolph and Shinola Update Military-Inspired Styles By Jamie Wilson Monday, June 20, 2016 12:00 AM NEW YORK—Made in America is what this latest eyewear collaboration is all about as Randolph Engineering, Massachusetts’ premiere eyewear manufacturer and Shinola, the Detroit-based design brand launch a new line that presents a twist on classic eyewear styles. Randolph’s signature aviator style, originally built for the U.S. military, is getting a red, white and new makeover featuring fresh color combinations. New to the line is a pink lens within a gold frame. This aviator features a Shinola logo in black on the interior frame while the signature Shinola lightning bolt detail decorates the temple tips in an amber color. Additionally, this updated style comes in a black matte frame with a blue lens and white Shinola logo. Another Randolph frame getting an upgrade is the P3 sunglass originally designed for the U.S. Navy. This model will feature a gold frame and pink lens with Shinola’s logo crafted in black on the interior frame and the Shinola lightning bolt on the temple tips. This style also comes in a black matte frame with a blue lens. “Our team here at Randolph is thrilled to collaborate with Shinola on this new exclusive line,” Peter Waszkiewicz, president and CEO, Randolph Engineering, Inc said. “This line offers our classic models but with a slight twist that we feel is perfect for eyewear trendsetters. As our eyewear line continues to grow and evolve, we continue to stay mindful of both what’s cutting edge in the industry, and the classic styles and quality our company was founded on.” Both styles are available at Shinola.com and Shinola stores nationwide and retail for $179.
