Carmen Walker, ABOC, Owner

Carmen has over 40 years of experience in optical. She started in her teens working for family friends who owned an optical shop. After having two kids, Carmen decided to start a wholesale laboratory in the basement of her home. She manufactured eyeglasses for retail sale and dispensed safety glasses to local businesses. Becoming aware through family and friends of the need for a friendly, personalized service optical shop in central Pennsylvania, she opened Hampden Optical in 1996.

She owns 10 pairs of glasses and 3 pairs of sunglasses.

Jennifer Whittington, Optician

Jennifer has been in the optical industry for 14 years. “Carmen is my mom, so I kind of got sucked into this industry! I started working part-time after high school, worked throughout college and then became full time in 2008.”

Currently, she owns five pairs of glasses and three pairs of sunglasses.
