This is a first! No actors, actresses or musicians in this edition of Bold Face, but our featured celebrities are no less remarkable. Their super, high-tech 3D frames are remarkable too…

The Queen of England has quite a bit to be excited about lately. She has her very own pair of customized Marchon 3D frames equipped with M3D lenses encrusted with Swarovski crystals in the shape of the letter Q on each temple! Oh yeah, and her grandson, the possible future King of England, just got engaged too. Queen Elizabeth II wore her 3D frames for a demonstration of film technology during a visit to studios in Toronto, Canada, where she got to witness a scene being filmed in 3D, then immediately watched it played back on a big projection screen. Rumor has it she liked them so much, Marchon is working on another crystal encrusted pair for Her Majesty…

Jeffrey Katzenberg
is a huge supporter of 3D technologies. In fact, in April of this year during an appearance on “The Colbert Report” he confirmed that from now on "every single movie" that Dreamworks Animation does will be in 3D and gave Stephen Colbert a pair of new 3D glasses. No doubt those glasses were a pair of Oakley’s new 3D offerings. In September the CEO of DreamWorks Animation talked about Oakley 3D eyewear at Variety's Third Annual 3D Entertainment Summit in L.A. and showcased the exclusive 3D Gascan from Oakley. Interested in seeing the latest 3D offering from Dreamworks? Pick up a pair of Oakley 3D frames and head to the theater for “Megamind” out now…

“Our grandparents watched black & white movies; we now watch HD 3D movies while wearing 3D sunglasses! Yet again, entertainment influences trends,” so says the King of the Big Budget Blockbuster, James Cameron himself. So it's no wonder Mr. Cameron is among the first of Hollywood royalty to be snapped in a pair of personal 3D specs. His frame of choice? The Marchon M3D 3D005S, a modified aviator with an added twist, the ability to transition from a sunglass providing UVA/UVB protection to the ultimate accessory in the 3D movie watching. I’m sure we’ll see him in these frames again when he debuts “Avatar 2”…
