WILTON, Conn.—L’Amy America has introduced a brand new eyewear line from Kenzo. “We are very pleased to partner with Kenzo, such an iconic Paris fashion house” said Stephen Rappoport, president of L’Amy America. “We will bring to the U.S. market a line of eyewear with a trademark that has spontaneity and fun, with colors and prints for both women and men.”

Adhering to Kenzo’s trademark of spontaneity and fun, the new collection will include 23 styles and consist of both ophthalmic glasses and sunglasses. Kenzo Eyewear is for the woman or man who’s not afraid of color and prints, the company said.

Kenzo first emerged in the fashion scene as Jungle Jap in 1970, a boutique in Paris where founder Kenzo Takada sold his handmade women’s collection. The company debuted its first men’s ready-to-wear collection in 1983, its kids and home collections in 1987 and its fragrances in 1988.

In 2011, Opening Ceremony founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon were appointed as creative directors of Kenzo. Now, Kenzo has a fresh attitude with respect for the brand’s heritage, continuing the original vision of creating clothes and eyewear for the woman or man who is not afraid of color and prints, the company said.
