ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The average retail price for eyeglass frames was $125.11 for the second half of 2012, according to the most recent statistics available from The Vision Council’s VisionWatch report, a negligible increase of approximately one-tenth of one percent from the same period one year prior and 2.4 percent from the second half of 2010. The graph shows that the average retail price for eyeglass frames has increased little from December 2010 to December 2012. Of all eyeglass frames sold for the full year 2012, 23 percent retailed for under $100, 52.6 percent for $100-$149, and 24.4 percent sold for over $150. For retail chains, the breakdown was under $100 (16.4 percent), $100-$149 (57.6 percent), and over $150 (26 percent). ■
