MILAN—Kering is debuting Gucci Eyewear styles from its Spring/Summer 2017 collections. The urban romanticism and eclecticism that Alessandro Michele, creative director, infuses into his collections has redefined Gucci’s codes and creativity, the company said.

His aesthetic favors gender fluidity, rich embellishments and an unconventional vibe, all blended liberally. Over 250 new styles developed annually feature the brand’s iconic motifs alongside novelty details, making the offering very versatile for the contemporary tastemaker.

This Gucci launch features women’s and men’s styles from the runway, Cruise 2017 styles as well as the main collection. For women’s runway styles, the ‘70s spirit is visible throughout featuring oversized styles in classic colors of unexpected transparencies. Men’s runway styles are inspired by dreamy explorations as the collection channels a number of references in a kaleidoscope of colors, interpreted with eccentric touches.

The Cruise 2017 looks are inspired by British culture, legacy and aesthetic—full of color, romance and retro flourishes. The main Gucci collection features a Gucci hallmark since the 1950s—the green and red web motif, a longstanding icon that is constantly reimagined with flair and versatility.

These styles feature a number of variations on a house specialty and exclusive treatments characterize a crop of new styles where the web pattern appears as a flash of glitter, as an urban-driven detail or as a colorful block statement.
