NEW YORK—With the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicking off on June 12 all eyes are on Brazil and many of those eyes are on the brand new face of the Police 2014 eyewear campaign from De Rigo Vision Spa, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, commonly known as Neymar.

Neymar is a 21 year old Brazilian footballer who plays for La Liga Club FC Barcelona and the Brazilian national team, as a forward. The budding style icon and new Police brand ambassador has been called the new hope of international football.

He has been identified as the future legend of the soccer and has been named in 2012 and 2013 by SportsPro the most marketable athlete in the world. He topped the list ahead of Lionel Messi, Rory McIlroy, Usain Bolt and Kobe Bryan, among other sportspeople. He will be one of the main Brazilian team players under the spotlight during the World Cup which runs from June 12 to July 13, 2014.

"Neymar expresses the various nuances of the brand's style and interprets them with passion and personality," said Michele Aracri, CEO of De Rigo (shown right, with Guillaume Pottecher (l), President at of De Rigo USA).

The campaign, shot by globally renowned fashion photographer, Rankin, portrays Neymar Jr in a number of minimalist shots with an urban finish; enhancing the charisma of the talented Brazilian footballer. The result is a series of genuine and spontaneous portraits, each brimming with character and perfectly reflecting Neymar Jr.'s personality.

Mexican model Daniela De Jesus, is the female protagonist of the new campaign, portrayed alongside Neymar Jr showcasing the women's offering from the brand.

The campaign will be launched globally on a variety of media channels, including the print and outdoor media and social platforms. No doubt some of Neymar's nearly 10 million twitter followers will be excited.
