In the latest edition of High Visibility, we're shining a spotlight on three eyewear brands that are solidifying their presence on the slopes through partnerships, sponsorships and new technologies.

Spy has entered a multi-year partnership with Powdr, a leading mountain sports and active entertainment company. Spy announced that it is now the official eyewear sponsor of eight Powdr-owned and operated resorts, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort and 25 Powdr resort-owned events through the course of the year. With this exclusive sponsorship, employees and guests of Powdr's ski resorts in the Mountain West, the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast can enjoy SPY products. "We're very happy to enter into an exciting union with Powdr," said Michael Marckx, Spy president and CEO. "Bolstering our commitment to snow, this opportunity will allow us to gain vital feedback from retail employees and resort staff regarding our sunglass and goggle offerings, most notably our Happy Lens and Lock Steady quick change goggle technology. This is our largest partnership with a mountain resort in the history of Spy, and we're looking forward to expanding Spy's presence on-hill and in the market..."

Maui Jim has been named the official sunglass brand of this year's International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Ski Championships. "There is no better way to watch the world's top athletes at The Championships than through a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses," said Craig LaManna, Maui Jims' director of global brand activation. "If the conditions are sunny, you won't need to squint because our bi-gradient mirror technology is designed to do that for you. If the conditions are snowy, you'll be able to see the athletes better, as our lenses make the colors pop and eliminate the glare coming off the snow. We're very happy to enhance the experience for all spectators wearing Maui Jims at this fantastic skiing event." Maui Jim's PolarizedPlus2 sunglass lens technology uses up to nine layers of protection around both sides of each lens to block 100 percent of UV rays and 99.9 percent of glare, according to the company. With an estimated 1 billion worldwide television viewers, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships are sure to put Maui Jim on the map with its ski set…

Dragon Alliance's new NFX2 snow goggle recently won in the goggle product category at the 2015 ISPO Awards, which honors exceptional sporting goods on the market. The goggle features the company's Swiftlock Lens Technology, "making lens changes faster, easier, and more secure than ever," the company said. Integrated lever within the goggle frame allow for instant on-and-off lens replacements, and the cylindrical lens design is available in a variety of colorways. The NFX2 is currently endorsed by Danny Davis, a 2015 X Games gold medalist and 2014 Snowboard Olympian. "What I really like about this goggle is that it looks kind of retro but it's got the newest technology and there's really nothing better than the frameless design," said the Dragon Global team rider. The snowboarder designed his own signature NFX2 model in his favorite colors and retro Dragon logo treatment. Hot off this award win, Dragon announced a partnership agreement with Crown Sports for U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) events. Dragon will serve as the official eyewear partner for the USSA and will have sponsorship sales rights to several USSA events, notably the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain and Park City Mountain Resort and the USANA International Cross Cup at Squaw Valley.
