WHO: Ed Sheeran, of course. Tessellations. Kaleidoscope Eyes. Geometry class.

WHAT: Geometric shapes have been getting more and more exposure with many sun and optical looks taking inspiration from hexagons and octagons. Whether they’re acetate, metal or both; rimless or otherwise; with or without a brow bar—these frames are shaping up to be quite the statement pieces.

WEAR: (Top Left) This Chloe CE2134 frame from Marchon is a classic, cool take on this trend. The oversized octagonal shape of the frame combined with its lightly tinted gradient lenses is reminiscent of a 60s-era exaggerated round but with a modern take. The Shasta frame from l.a. Eyeworks brings the fun to this party. This acetate frame features flat edges on its top and bottom, playing up the geometry. The dual-toned front, a combination of a solid blue and tortoise-like pattern, add a definite wow-factor. (Bottom Left) Kering’s Alexander McQueen MQ0139S style adds lines and dimension to its geometric appearance with its thin metal brow bar. De Rigo REM’s John Varvatos V526 adds a twist with its rimless silhouette and flash blue lenses. While the edges are more subtle, a rocker chic vibe still comes through.

WHY: Add some edge to your look by opting for a silhouette that goes against the norm in terms of shapes. Channel the full scope of geometry and give Ed Sheeran’s lyrics a remix to find the shape for you.
