It’s a collection that consists of over 100 styles of ophthalmic and sunglass frames. Every detail is created and aimed to compliment the uniqueness of Asian features and skin tones. Created by designer Alexandra Peng, TC Charton offers styles for men, women, teens and children offering superb craftsmanship and comfort by using the best materials and components the industry has to offer. MSRP is $135 to $300 @Retail Lacey Morgan Optician, Mielcarek Eye Center, Media, Penn. “We’ve had patients travel from over an hour away, even out of state, just to try on these frames.” What are you selling? We brought in TC Charton about five years ago when they were launching at Vision Expo. I fell in love with designer Alexandra and her vision for Asian eyewear. As an optician, when you dispense to Asian patients, you know in the back of your mind you will never be able to fit them exactly as they wish. We placed an order and within weeks had already sold a few pairs. Who’s buying it? It speaks directly to Asian Americans, but also to more races and difficult to fit faces. African Americans also benefit from the design, as well as anyone that has large cheeks whose glasses are always hitting their cheeks or sliding down. The frames are stylishly designed, so we even have Caucasians pick them without knowing the special features. The wearers are smart, educated consumers who have searched the internet for a solution, and have no problem traveling or going out-of-network from their insurance for these frames. Why do they like it? Patients respond to these frames because there are not many choices for them and they’ve had a lifetime of ill-fitting glasses. They are ready to feel “normal.” They are exquisitely designed, so the frames are on point with modern styles and colors. Patients don’t have to choose form over fashion. Those ecstatic customers go home and tell everyone about their one-of-a-kind experience at my optical.
