Founded in 2011 by Shaun Paterson, Shauns seeks to redefine California style while challenging the notion of what luxury should really stand for. Paterson’s upbringing in Europe and his affection for his new home in California are influential in the Shauns aesthetic. Designed in California, each frame is produced in family-owned workshops in Italy. The collection appeals to discerning customers looking for a sophisticated, fashionable frame beautifully made with an authentic independent story. The brand’s philosophy of “Soulful Luxury” is evident in the acetate all sourced from the original Mazzuchelli factory in Italy and the brand’s social mission of funding a pair for someone in need with each pair purchased through their “Give Sight” program. Each frame includes the brand’s “Braille S” logo of three dots that symbolizes this mission as well as their design philosophy.

What are you selling?
We brought Shauns California into our shops in September 2015 after we heard the amazing story of the line and saw the integrity behind the product. Patients have been responding very well to sun styles Ailsa and Tacit, as well as ophthalmic styles like the Tiree and Cara.

Who’s buying it?
Shauns frames are attractive to customers with a classic and luxurious style who have an eye for subtle elegance and a flair of attitude. Often the Shauns shopper will leave with a frame that completes their image, not only as a personal accessory but as an extension of who they are.

Why do they like it?
Patients adore the story and cause behind Shauns. Because the founder had such poor vision as a child, he has dedicated this line to improving the vision of people in need by donating glasses and vision services to as many people as possible. Their mission to “Give Sight” is engraved in each frame and represented by a braille “S” logo. Once a patient hears the story, they are forever fans and want to join the cause, just like us.
