DALLAS—EGMA LLC lab in Dallas and Ocuco have partnered to manufacture progressives utilizing Ocuco’s proprietary software, Contour. Contour’s Adaptive Design Technology (ADT) selects a lens design based on each patient’s unique lifestyle needs, individually adapting the lens for the best possible vision utilizing the selectmylens.com website.

“This partnership provides the optometrists with a wider selection of design potential to further personalize their patients’ lens and eyewear,” said Ocuco’s Brian Boddy, ABOM. “The Contour process engages the patient and knowing their own individual needs are being addressed they will be a more loyal, satisfied customer.”

EGMA vice president Alan Yuster added, “This new technology is a natural extension of our Eyeonx portfolio of lenses. The X100 is a non-compensated, digitally manufactured lens where the refraction and lensometer values are equal.

“The X300 lenses are compensated by calculation for ‘as worn,’ i.e. pantoscopic tilt, vertex and wrap. The X500 is personalized by individual measurements for the as worn individual measurement, and now the X700 Contour ADT is the perfect extension, allowing all the benefits of X500 with further individualization by preference and lifestyle.”
