OXFORD/EAST MIDLANDS, England—Eyejusters are offering a new take on adjustable focus reading glasses. The British-based company’s readers use high-quality, stylish frames in stainless steel or acetate and a proprietary lens technology known as SlideLens.

Although based on an Alvarez principle, SlideLens optics have been completely re-engineered for eyewear, with better optical performance across the power range and field of view, according to Eyejusters.

SlideLens technology consists of a pair of independent lenses, sealed against moisture and dirt, which slide across each other. Each lens can be individually focused by the wearer through a small adjustable dial in each side of the frame enabling wearers to focus each eye independently. Anti-scratch coating is standard.

“Eyejusters replaces the need for multiple pairs of glasses,” noted Eyejusters co-founder Owen Reading.

The company’s classic frame styles are available in 17 different colors and are backed by a one-year warranty. The U.S. retail price is $89 or $99, depending on frame range selected. The company offers retail point-of-sale displays through its starter packs. Optical practices can sign up or get more information at www.eyejusters.com/retailers/.
