RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—The VSP Optics Group is adding sunsync, a new, proprietary photochromic lens, to its Unity Performance Optics portfolio. The sunsync lenses darken fast, fade quickly and are available in gray and brown. The lenses provide eyecare practices high value with attractive pricing and $5 through the UnitySavings program, VSP said.

“sunsync is a high-performance photochromic that was specifically developed to complement our broad portfolio of Unity lenses,” said Todd Riley, director of business development for VSP Optics Group. “Adding a quality photochromic expands our product suite, which is designed to provide simple solutions for eyecare professionals to meet the needs of every patient.”

sunsync filters up to 93 percent of visible light after 15 minutes and fades to 70 percent clear in six minutes with an overall indoor clarity of 88 percent, according to VSP. The lenses block 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation. They are available in CR-39 monomer from PPG, polycarbonate, Trivex and 1.67 high index for standard single-vision lenses as well as most Unity single-vision and progressive designs. ■
