Luxottica Launches Coach Eyewear Collections
Quick Take: Luxottica Group has introduced a new line of luxury eyewear that expresses the signature look and distinctive identity of the Coach brand.
Wearer: Women who are fans of the 70 year old brand, those with fit concerns.
Specifics: The Coach collection is offered in two lines, each with a variety of shapes – round, cat-eyed, oversized – with custom-designed acetates and high-definition treatments. In a first for the brand, the second line features an Asian fit, with a custom bridge and specialized nose-pad arm.
Selling Points: In celebration of the brand’s 70th anniversary, the collection reaffirms Coach’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship and cutting-edge design, while incorporating innovative new techniques and materials. Each style is distinguished by logo detailing using metal inlays, laser-engraving or novel hardware, such as the Kissing Cs buckle on the oversized Natasha sunglasses. Other details include signature charms, custom temple grommets and the iconic lozenge-shaped logo on every sun style, while colors include olive, ivory, pale burgundy, spotted tortoise and blue.

Viva International Debuts 2012 Gant Collections
Quick Take: Viva International has presented new styles for men and women in their Gant Eyewear 2012 collections, which follows the timeless American tradition of the Gant brand. Specifics: In addition to the fourteen new sun and optical styles for men and women in the Gant collection, Gant Rugger has also introduced two new optical styles and four new sun styles for 2012 collection.
Selling Points: A classic approach is taken with the bold, handcrafted acetate model G Winslow, which accentuates the “all American prep” look of the collection, with thick temples, a wayfarer-inspired silhouette and two-tone coloration. The GS Chester, a handcrafted acetate sunglass style, is fashioned similarly. The deserts of Morocco inspired the color palette of the GS Stewart; a key men’s sun style with classic design, a round lens shape and metal stud detailing in handcrafted acetate. The GS Todd, also handcrafted in acetate, also plays to the “American in Morocco” theme. The GW Morgan, a key style in the women’s collection, features stone accents on handcrafted acetate; the same accents also decorate the temples of the semi rimless GW Patty and metal-rimmed GW Whitney. Vintage-inspired elements are featured in the new releases, including the keyhole bridge of the women’s acetate, GW Colby. A combination of collegiate and downtown styles are captured in the “nouveau prep” look of the Gant Rugger 2012 collection. The GR Nelson features a modified aviator profile in handmade acetate and can be offered as a sunglass; while the GRS Wolfie is an ultra-classic wayfarer sun with deep lenses and thick temples in handmade acetate. All Gant Rugger sunglass styles are Rx-ready and feature polarized lenses.

A&A Optical Presents New Cruz Styles for Men
Quick Take: A&A Optical has announced the release of new styles from the Cruz eyewear collection, a collection of “affordable luxuries designed for the discriminating, modern man.”
Specifics: Two new optical styles for men.
Selling Points: The Cruz eyewear collection offers a selection of fine, handcrafted frames which complement any lifestyle and any age. Encompassing a unique mixture of elements in colors, coatings, materials and shapes, Cruz eyewear connects with today’s modern man. The new I-985 is a rectangle matte metal frame with a diamond pattern in contrasting metallic color on the temples. The semi-rimless Bourbon St with pillowed rectangular eye shape features angle cut temples in acetate with a metal inset create an abstract layered effect. Zero G Introduces Fall/Winter 2011/2012 Styles
Quick Take: California-based Zero G has unveiled their Fall/Winter 2011/2012 styles. Zero G Titanium refers to "zero gravity" or "weightlessness" and the entire collection focuses on classic, modern and timeless shapes in rich colors and unique patterns.
Specifics: Nine new styles handcrafted in Japan.
Selling Points: The nine new models represent a blend of modern-meets-retro styling with bold new details and color patterns. Two of the new women's styles, Chauncey and Park Slope, take inspiration from classic-retro plastics while incorporating a clean, modern design. Both models feature textured acetate temples, and introduce all new colors to the Zero G. With its combination of plastic and titanium brow line, the Worthington offers the look of a vintage, feminine "clubmaster" with a lightweight feel and features a pressure-mounted plastic insert without screws, pins, or solder-points. The Jackson Heights and Crown Heights are two new semi-rimless frames designed for a larger-faced man or woman, and supports progressive-friendly lenses. The Westbury is a semi-rimless, unisex design with a narrow pupil distance; the two "B" measurements supports both shallow and deep lens options; while the Columbia is a classic P3 shape.

ClearVision Announces Global Fit Collection
ClearVision Optical has announced their Global Fit collection, a line of adjustable fit frames debuting with styles from the BCBGMaxAzria brand. Global Fit was created to provide highly adjustable eyewear that addresses special fitting needs of a wide range of global ethnicities and is designed for individuals with a narrow or lower nose bridge and flatter facial structure. All the designs have gooseneck nose pad arms that adjust two ways for maximum adjustability. The collection offers chic, fashionable designs in modern, angular eye shapes that are flattering to all facial structures. To promote the Global Fit optical collection, new in-store POP merchandising and imagery will be developed.
Sama Adds Horn Combinations to Several Styles
Sama Eyewear has added a beautiful brown/horn acetate combination to a variety of their most popular styles. The combination features a rich brown acetate front matched with coordinating matte-finished, horn-colored temples. The new color combination has been made available on the Underground, Nick, Jacob, Times, Jackson, Federico, Toney, Arte 2 and Arte 3 optical styles.
Ørgreen Bows Titanium & Beta-titanium Newcomers
Ørgreen has added three new pieces to its Airline and Helium collection. The new models in titanium and beta-titanium will be each available in seven color combinations and were launched at OPTI Fair in Munich. Among them is the Vespa, a modern and retro unisex frame inspired by the '50s. Like all other styles from Ørgreen Optics, the new pieces are designed and developed in Denmark and made by hand in Japan.
