Ogi Eyewear Launches New Evo–Tec Collection

Wearer: “Ogi feels men are consistently overlooked in the marketplace,” said Joe Tallier, vice president of global sales for Ogi. “In 2013, we will be focusing on men’s eyewear beginning with the Evo–Tec collection. Specifics: The initial launch collection of Evo-Tec includes five styles each available in four different color combinations.
Selling Points: Constructed of an exceptionally lightweight material, these new Evo-Tec designs merge the warm appearance of plastic with the thinness and lightweight aspects of titanium coupled with Ogi’s proprietary coloring process. A featured style of the new collection is the 4801. Featuring soft lines and smooth curves, the 4801’s classic rectangle shape paired with the lightweight Ultem provides impeccable comfort and durability in a matte finish and color combinations like tortoise, green demi and blue demi. To support the launch Evo-Tec counter cards, postcards, large window banners and logo plaques from Ogi Eyewear are available.

McGee Bows the Latest from Boutique by Totally Rimless
Quick Take: Combining lightweight rimless design with art nouveau-inspired styling, the latest frames from Boutique by Totally Rimless by the McGee Group feature titanium frames and adjustable nose pads to ensure the frame is lightweight and comfortable, while the jeweled accents and soft romantic colors increase the feminine aesthetic.
Specifics: Three new optical styles for women.
Selling Points: The TR 189 offers a modern rectangular eyeshape and temples that feature cutouts highlighted by rhinestone embellishments available in burgundy and soft brown. The TR 190 features thin temples with larger stone embellishments and an oval eyeshape with uplift in brown and gold. Laslty, the TR 191 features a classic oval eyeshape with a metal casted and jeweled endpieces paired with laser-cut open temples in brown and gold. With handmade pearlized acetate temple tips, the TR 189, TR 190 and TR 191 come with coordinating cases. Eastern States Releases New Exces Styles
Quick Take: Eastern States Eyewear has announced the release of eight new styles within its Exces Eyewear collection.
Specifics: Color is a major point of focus within this new release. A brighter, more diverse palette graces the new release’s mix of youthful, funky designs.
Selling Points: In addition to its diverse, bright range of colors the styles are enhanced by a variety of laser cuts and interesting patterns. A variety of shapes and sizes are featured in the entire new collection, showing an ability to fit standard size faces and tweeners alike. Six of the styles are traditional Exces styles targeted to a younger demographic, the other two are Exces “Princess” styles which feature a more classic twist with accents such as crystals and resin. ProDesign Extends the Essential Collection
Quick Take: For the ProDesign Essential collection the retro-wave continues strongly into the fall/winter season of 2012 with six new frames.
Specifics: Six new shapes, two feminine, one masculine and three unisex, styles 1709-1714. All in six colors each.
Selling Points: Instead of the very chunky, with thick, heavy temples traditional retro-inspired frames, ProDesign has created a light and more sophisticated collection that retains the unmistakable feel of the 60’s and 70’s. The front colors are very subtle and quite masculine; some feature three layers with a thicker layer in the middle for more intense color. The distinct male look of the collection is emphasized by the subtle details of the square rivets placed on both the front and temples.

ClearVision Introduces BCBGMaxAzria Holly
ClearVision Optical has introduced the BCBGMaxAzria Holly frame, a fashionable, customizable 3-piece rimless frame featuring genuine, hand laminated feathers. The Holly is available in six different eye shapes giving women the opportunity to customize their look, along with the frame’s dramatic temple in a palette of six colors. The temple is designed with genuine, custom dyed feathers, manually arranged and hand laminated in clear or smoke acetate. Holly features a metal bridge, end piece and logo plaque on both temples. Mykita & Moncler Unveil the Lionel for AW 2012/13
Mykita & Moncler debut the unisex Lionel model, and its urban context, for the 2012/13 autumn/winter season. Inspired by 1950s alpine glacier goggles, which featured round lenses in metal rims and leather cladding for protection, the Mylon Lionel incorporates an ample double bridge and slight temples that represent the modern manifestation of alpine eyewear. A delicate silhouette and a further reduced weight of the Mylon were the defining features behind the creation of the Lionel. To mark the 60th anniversary of Moncler this frame as named after Lionel Terray, in remembrance of the first mountaineer to have his expeditions outfitted by Moncler.
Best Image Optical Adds the Plume Paris Nice
Plume Paris Eyewear, the European influenced brand from Best Image Optical, has added the Nice optical frame inspired by the city in southern France located on the Mediterranean coast. Nice is a two tone stainless steel frame directly inspired by the avant-garde type fashion found throughout the city. The frame features bright color combinations and vintage-inspiration in size 38-27-140 and available in m.brown/beige, m.black/silver and m.grey/rust.
