Match Eyewear Launches AV Studio Collection

Wearer: Following in the footsteps of Adrienne Vittadini, AV Studio reinvents casual elegance by bringing a bold and sexy edge to classic eyewear designs for young women, 20 to 35, who have a chic and adventurous sense of style.
Specifics: The collection includes 18 ophthalmic and eight sunwear styles.
Selling Points: Standouts include the vintage inspired, librarian-style design of ophthalmic style AV-84S, which has been updated with a spray of Swarovski crystals on narrow acetate temples, and the AV-54S, an almond shaped, matte metal combination frame with a subtle touch of Swarovski crystals. Sun style AVS-104 showcases retro Hollywood glamour with an oversized cat-eye shaping in polished acetate, textured metal and Swarovski crystal temple treatments. "The AV Studio collection is cool and a little audacious, but it maintains the polish and accessible luxury of the Adrienne Vittadini brand," said Ethan Goodman, president of Match. New brand images and logos will be featured in integrated marketing efforts and merchandising materials, including counter cards and logo plaques, to support the collection.

Zyloware Presents Red Lotus by Zyloware Collection
Quick Take: Zyloware has launched the Red Lotus by Zyloware eyewear collection in response to demographic trends and retail requests for eyewear that is both fashionable and designed to fit, the company said.
Wearer: The collection specifically fits women with broader faces, flatter bridges, high cheekbones and/or wide foreheads.
Specifics: Red Lotus Eyewear has launched with six styles and 14 skus and includes styles made of handcrafted zyl with adjustable nosepads and full and semi-rimless metal styles. Design elements include rich colors, animal prints, layers and engravings.
Selling Points: “Acknowledging and addressing a market need has been one of Zyloware’s greatest successes,” said Christopher Shyer, Zyloware president. “Listening to ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and the voice of consumers is one of the secrets to Zyloware’s successful 90 years serving the vision care industry.” The collection’s special fit is accomplished thanks to wider angles at the nasal area and wider curvature across the front to provide a better and more comfortable fit. “S” shaped nosepad arms are incorporated in all styles to allow the frames to sit farther from the face, reach flatter bridges and provide better adjustment to keep the frames from sliding.

Viva Bows Skechers Fall 2013 Men’s Eyewear Collection

Silhouette Unveils the Titan Rays Collection

Eastern States Announces Jaguar Eyewear’s Fall Release
Quick Take: Eastern States Eyewear has announced the release of Jaguar Eyewear’s fall optical collection from Menrad GMBH.
Specifics: The new introduction encompasses Jaguar’s classic collection with three new styles and an additional three new models in the youthful Jaguar Spirit and Performance sub-collections.
Selling Points: In the Jaguar classic collection, each new style features Jaguar’s penchant for outstanding, subtle detailing with one new style constructed of Pure Titanium. All feature layered metalwork on their temples to allow for added color shading while providing a three dimensional appearance. These Jaguar styles also provide for men who need wider fits, with the Jaguar 33068 featuring a 60mm eye size with a modern double bridge design and a two toned color scheme, while the other two styles both sport 57mm measurements. For the brand’s more youthful customers, two plastic and one stainless steel model provide sporty, progressive shapes while adhering to the same quality standards as the core collection in the Jaguar Spirit and Performance groups. A wide variety of modern color accents are apparent in each model including rust, red and navy.

ClearVision Launches Exclusive DuraHinge
ClearVision Optical has launched DuraHinge frames, exclusively from the ClearVision Collection. Created and designed for men who need a little more “muscle” in their eyewear, the DuraHinge technology features a proprietary five barrel hinge that offers superior strength with the added flexibility of a spring hinge, yet isn’t too bulky or heavy on the face. DuraHinge launches with three styles under the ClearVision Collection umbrella, with more styles being added in spring 2014. DuraHinge frames feature today’s popular eye shapes like rectangles and navigators and minimalist deign details like carbon fiber, textured tooling and architectural perforations. “ClearVision’s DuraHinge technology was designed and developed in response to a marketplace need for durable, sturdy frames that are both stylish and competitively priced,” said Cathy Kaye, ClearVision’s senior brand product manager.
Spy Adds the John John Florence Folding Sunglass
Spy has introduced the Fold, a foldable sunglass inspired by Spy’s John John Florence. As a pro surfer, John John knows how to pack tight and travel light. With this in mind, John John and Spy designed the multi-hinged Fold frame, which “folds” up to fit neatly in its pouch or a pocket. The Fold is custom-built from Grilamid and features a bridge hinge, 5-barrel hinges at the frame and temple and mid-temple pin hinges for quick folding and stowing, as well as 6-base curve polycarbonate lenses, 100 percent UV protection and a custom, collapsible pouch with a slot for cards. The Fold will also feature Spy’s revolutionary new Happy Lens technology, an innovative lens designed to let in the sun’s “good” rays that promote balance in the body—fostering a positive uplift in mood and alertness—while simultaneously blocking the “bad” rays. Skaga from Scandinavian Eyewear Intros Fall Styles
The new autumn styles by Skaga from Scandinavian Eyewear are all about meetings and opposites, and about clean designs. For fall, dark meets light, transparent meets opaque, man meets woman, matte meets gloss and materials meet each other. The brand delved into their Scandinavian design archive to created eyewear in simple, flattering lines. A number of autumn’s new styles are made from their unique special acetate, a material the brand’s designers, Anna Mälstad, Gustav Kristenson and Carina Mollsjö, love working with thanks to its natural origins from cotton. Combinations this autumn consist of thin black and silvery layers with a gently transparent grey inside.
