Safilo Launches Kids by Safilo Optical Collection

Quick Take: Safilo Group has introduced its Kids by Safilo eyewear collection.
Wearer: Made specifically for kids aged 0 to 8 and their vision needs, the collection is designed with a medical-scientific approach and created using advanced technologies and materials, the company said.
Specifics: Made entirely in Italy, Kids by Safilo optical frames have soft rubber molded over the internal temple and bridge, and have high performance polymers for the frame front and temples. The materials are bio-compatible, hypoallergenic, non-toxic and washable, the company said. Available color ways are transparent and will not distract from the child’s face.
Selling Points: “Today [this] project also reflects our new company approach – a shared sense of purpose across the whole company, based on a deep understanding of the functional and emotional needs of our consumers,” said Luisa Delgado, CEO of Safilo. “In this case, the children of the world and their parents.” Safilo collaborated with SIOP (Società Italiana di Oftalmologia Pediatrica) to produce a collection that complies with the guidelines of WSPOS (World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus), boasting safety, comfort, fitting, resistance and aesthetics in each of its frames.

Specifics: The Karl is Kolor collection will feature one sunglass style, KL003S, in three colors.
Selling Points: The Karl Lagerfeld and Italia Independent KL003 sunglass style was initially introduced in Paris in September of 2013, but the latest capsule collection between the two brands will extend the eyewear’s shelf life. The style will be featured in three colors: blue, pink and green, and will have a joint logo accented on its left temple. The capsule collection highlights Italia Independent’s future plans of partnering with prestigious international brands to create unique products.

Rudy Project’s Latest Collection Offers Sporty Sun Styles

The Broomstyk frame is catered to women, and is available in six distinct and eccentric color ways, while the men’s Sensor is a sleek frame and available in seven colors. All three styles feature RP-D Centered Optics, which improve visual performance and eye protection for athletes in and out of uniform, the company said. Each style also utilizes Rudy Project’s FreeForm TEK, which allows each sunglass to be fitted with direct in-frame prescription lenses that are digitally surfaced on the back side for edge-to-edge coverage.

Spy Optic Intros New Ken Block Livery Collection

Quick Take: Spy Optic has revealed the 2015 Ken Block Livery series, a collection of eyewear inspired by the professional rally driver’s uniform.
Specifics: The collection features seven sun styles, six of which are Spy’s most popular styles and one of which is Block’s signature frame, each available in four distinct color combinations.

L'Amy America has introduced three new women’s styles and two new men’s styles to their L’Amy Paris collection. The Adelle is an all acetate style made modern with a thinner gauge and butterfly shaped face front; while two dot rivets adorn the temples along with a color blocking element that juxtaposes between solid and patterned material. The Camille is a modern update on a classic look. The temples are constructed of triple-layered material and feature a scalloped design highlighting each distinct color. Morel Debuts New Öga Avlang Design

Morel has released a new version of Öga’s Avlang style featuring injected TR90 fronts. Avlang, meaning “oblong” in Swedish and Norwegian, is a design revolving around a fine-walled, stainless steel 4mm tube combining robustness and lightness. The Avlang concept was inspired by the modern cylin¬drical architectural style from the Art Deco period of the 1930’s known as, Streamline Moderne.
