Sama Pays Tribute to Meryl Streep

A dozen years ago The Hours was released as a screen adaptation of the Pulitzer-prize winning book written by Michael Cunningham. The eyewear worn by Meryl Streep, one of the movie’s three stars, was the Raya from Sama Eyewear, customized for the film by the brand’s Sheila Vance. Today, Sama has updated the frame, as well as introduced the Meryl, inspired by its original, for Summer 2015. The new Meryl release is an adapted frame from the original model and is part of the Lace collection. It features an oversized mod round shape with a similar front facing look and inset technology with matte gel frame colors. But the temples have laser cut insets in gold, bronze, antique gold, antique silver and platinum cased in complimentary acetate, clear or matte gel colors. Asger Juel Larsen × Ørgreen Collaboration Unveiled

In collaboration with Ørgreen, eyewear, menswear designer Asger Juel Larsen has debuted a range of sunglasses. With only 100 pieces per SKU, the style reflects the essence of past fashion collections that translate the designer’s aesthetic impact through juxtaposition, the company said. The shades take a sturdy classical acetate frame and inflict blocks of neon green and orange into the framework. The epitome of Asger’s work, the sunglasses contribute towards a look and lifestyle that denies traditions and establishes confidence that doesn’t just come from eye contact, according to the company. www.orgreenoptics.com
