More Images
Quick Take: Tura has extended its house brand with new ophthalmic styles featuring jewelry-inspired details with uplifting front shapes and sophisticated colors.
Specifics: Four new optical frames for women.
Selling Points: “The latest designs continue to feature top tier materials and boast jewelry like details including, braided chain and pierced decor,” said Tura brand manager, Julie Allen. “All styles have uplifting yet wearable front shapes and richly plated metal colors, perfectly matched with block and laminate acetate to suit the American aesthetic.” The titanium milled metal front of style R117 makes this cat eye frame lightweight, soft and modern, while giving the smooth appearance of a plastic frame. A beveled top brow line adds drama and femininity, while a subtle temple decor contributes to the understated elegance of the frame. The ultra-feminine R116 features fan shaped piercings in a double-overlaid pattern adds dimension to the temples, end piece and frame front. With a semi rimless, oval lens shape in metal, the European round crystals in style R531 are set like diamonds allowing light to pass through the back of each stone for a sparkling effect. Style R533 also sports a semi rimless metal front accentuated by a forked end piece and rope braided temple decor. The frame features a hand painted line of enamel and rich block acetate temple sleeves.

Prodesign Denmark Expands Essential Collection

Prodesign Denmark has expanded the Essential Collection with four new models, 1752-55, in three to five colors. Prodesign is using the raw-material for a gradient temple front and changes the color on one end of the material. Using two sheets, they laminate the sheets together, with the top layer upside down to create an “arrow pattern.” They then cut the laminated material in stripes to see the effect from the side. The effect results in a split between the first two colors that is easy to see and balanced with a monotone front in the same color as the first color of the temple. www.prodesigndenmark.com
