Charmant Launches Eco-Eyewear Awear Brand

Quick Take: Charmant USA has announced the launch of awear, a new brand of fully bio-based and sustainable fashion eyewear. With a broad range of translucent, saturated colors, awear frames can make an equally bold style and eco-savvy statement, the company said.
Wearer: Designed for the style-conscious and environmentally savvy Millennial, who wants to be mindful of protecting the earth and its natural resources.
Specifics: The collection includes seven optical frames and two sun styles for men and women. “Awear is different and exceptional from any other eyewear collection. The materials and production processes have distinctive properties and a unique story because they are environmentally friendly,” said Michele Ziss, director of product and marketing at Charmant.
Selling Points: Awear frames and sun lenses use sustainable materials that are recyclable. These materials include a bio-based plastic that reduces carbon dioxide emissions and a material featuring a high chemical resistance that conserves water in production. The collection also features biodegradable demo lenses made from polylactic acid, a carbon neutral material. Awear temples are assembled by hand to decrease energy consumption while their flexible design provides an ergonomic and comfortable fit.
