Luxottica Debuts 2017 Launch of Valentino Eyewear

More Images
Quick Take: Luxottica revealed its 2017 launch of Valentino eyewear.
Wearer: Creative, slightly edgy individuals
Specifics: Comprised of sun and optical styles, this launch channels the essence of Valentino style. Grace, delicacy and dedication to sartorial culture pervade the vibrant atmosphere of the workshops in Palazzo Mignanelli where timeless creations are produced, the company said.
Selling Points: With Pierpaolo Piccioli, Valentino’s creative director takes inspiration from the deeply humanistic concept of creativity as an individual process, and the accessories rediscover these main characteristics of Valentino fashion with a contemporary aesthetic vision.
In the eyewear collection, the same aesthetic is present in a mix of sensual designs and punk metal, glam crystals and nylon and especially in the choice to sign the temples of all the models with the stud, the iconic symbol of the Valentino fashion house.
Sun style VA2003 features an oval metal silhouette that combines austere design with sophisticated materials. Rimless lenses, fixed with visible screws and characterized by a slight side mesh is inspired by post-industrial style. The slim temples with acetate tips are signed by iconic studs and feature adjustable nosepads. Optical style VA1003 is an oval silhouette characterized by bright metal. The profile of the rims is defined by a hand-applied line of colored enamel. Additionally, the slimness of the temples and thickness of the temple tips create a contrast to the frame and these also feature adjustable nosepads.

Exces Eyewear From ESE Releases Men’s Collection

More Images
Quick Take: Eastern States Eyewear presents “SlimFit,” the first ever men’s collection within Exces Eyewear.
Specifics: Four styles feature a super thin, high density, acetate front typically matched with sleek, lightweight stainless steel temples.
Selling Points: The properties of the HD acetate allow for sturdiness within the extra thin front construction. Similarly, the stainless steel temples allow for added comfort and provide a natural flexibility. The coloration of the temples were carefully cultivated to provide contrast and vibrancy while maintaining their masculinity. “SlimFit” places a focus on smaller men’s eye sizes with an average size of 52mm.
“There’s been a growing demand for men’s styles within Exces from our customers and sales team alike,” explained Jason Shyer, ESE managing director. “We took a lot of time curating this collection to ensure it fits within the collection conceptually, artistically and practically. There is no question that the smaller size range and colors we have adopted have a lot to do with fitting into our product mix properly and similarly addressing our customer’s needs.”
