Modo’s Eco Brand Debuts Biobased & Recycled Collection for Spring Summer 2017
Quick Take: Modo’s Eco brand creates new concepts with earth-friendly materials while continuing its main commitments of sustainability and responsibility. For Eco’s Spring Summer 2017 collection, the brand is launching its Biobased and Recycled styles.
Specifics: In this collection are four new shapes, each available in four colors with corresponding magnetic sun clip-ons. Each new frame is constructed with a biobased front and recycled temples.
Selling Points: The Glomma style is a unisex panto shape, available in colors such as black, crystal, tortoise fade to crystal and an interesting rubberized texture. Arakawa, is a large men’s square silhouette and features a dark tortoise and a rubber texture black shade along with two shiny options---shiny grey and shiny crystal. The men’s retro keyhole square shape, Seudre, features a rubberized tortoise fade to crystal shade which gives the illusion of a semi-rimless style. The new women’s shape, Isere is a feminine rounded square and is available in hues such as shiny red tortoise gradient, blue tortoise and dark purple with tortoise fade.

Leisure Society by Shane Baum Introduces Summer 2017 Collection

Selling Points: Each piece of this collection actually consists of two frames melded together for both design and performance qualities. Using fine quality materials like 12K, 18K and 24K gold-plated titanium, polarized CR-39 lenses with a proprietary 12-layer AR coating and both hydrophobic and diamond-cast scratch resistant coatings, these frames are paired with a genuine leather, tri-fold case. The Clairaut, a unisex frame that is a key style to this release, is named after the astronomer Alexis Clairaut. The style features a two-tone “frame within a frame” design, angular double bridge and 2-base lenses that create a futuristic interpretation. The Otto frame named after Otto Toepher is a round silhouette that combines cotton-based Japanese zyl frame front with titanium. Additional styles like Ebb and Kepler are both made with advanced technology construction that combines titanium chassis with a zyl front. The ultra-thin beta titanium temples add to the comfortability of the style while being coated in 12K or 18K gold.
