The test includes industry standard, Sloan specification literate, illiterate, and pediatric optotypes for western and 6 global languages. Flex is gesture-driven to simply and intuitively display acuity lines, single letters, and full charts including smart randomization and reverse contrast on retina display iPad devices.

“Flex marks a new chapter in our vision assessment products, bringing professional-grade visual acuity tests onto high resolution mobile devices such as Apple’s Retina display iPads,” said Charles Wm. Stewart, OD, Konan Medical USA CEO. “We have previewed Flex with ophthalmologists and optometrists for standard VA testing, out of office screenings, clinical trials, school nurses, and even with emergency rooms physicians to bring the vision tests to the patients. Flex is on-the-fly precision acuity testing at reading distances, computer distances or even full distance vision testing,” said Dr. Stewart.
Vital Stats: Konan’s Chart2020 professional-grade Flex visual acuity app is now available on the Chart2020 Duo app at the

Eschenbach Offers Mounting Adapter for its Galilean Telescope
Product: Telescope Mounting Adapter
Top Line: The Telescope Mounting Adapter is designed to allow an Eschenbach Galilean telescope to be attached to a lens by an adhesive on the adapter so that no drilling is required. The adapter is threaded on the inside and will accommodate any of the Eschenbach Galilean telescopes: #1621, #1622-5, or #1623. (It is not recommended for use with Keplerian telescopes due to the weight of the Keplerian telescope.)
Close Up: The Telescope Mounting Adapter is suitable for single-vision spectacle lenses with a front plano base curve of up to +12.00 Diopters. When mounting, the distance between the perspective point and the edge of the carrier glass may not be less than 11 mm at any point.
The mounting process is fairly straightforward, according to Eschenbach. Mark the front of the lens where you want the telescope mounted, copy the mark on the back of the lens, thoroughly clean the front side of the lens, screw the telescope into the Adapter, remove the protective paper over the adhesive ring on the Adapter and then affix the Adapter with telescope onto the outside of the lens. The 1673-02 package includes two Telescope Mounting Adapters as well as two replacement adhesive rings.
