Eyefinity EHR Customizes Eye Exam Workflow

Product: Eyefinity EHR
Top Line: Eyefinity EHR introduces their most customizable vision exam workflow for each user.
Close Up: Eyefinity EHR recently launched their most customizable vision exam workflow. In real time, users can create their preferred order for specific procedures they like to perform, as well as hide procedures that they do not use. For example, if a doctor does not perform specular microscopy, the endothelial cell count can be removed from the list of procedures shown in the vision exam. Every time a doctor is in the vision exam, either on the iPad or desktop, this procedure will remain hidden. This customized workflow is designed to create greater efficiencies in Eyefinity EHR in addition to saving valuable exam time. Doctors will be able to tap the patient’s name to immediately see the patient’s last dilated exam, insurance, global periods, and more.
Vital Stats: Once a user creates their preferred vision exam workflow, Eyefinity EHR will save this information and it will be available every time the user logs into either the iPad or desktop version.

Product: iDispense App for iPad
Top Line: Optisoft, a leading supplier of practice management systems to opticians in the UK, recently released an iPad app to aid dispensing opticians called iDispense. The app is free to download and try.
Close Up: Designed to be the go to app for dispensing opticians, iDispense provides all the tools needed to make the most of every dispense, according to Optisoft:
• Frame Selection—capture photos and videos of ‘try-ons’ to allow the patient to see themselves wearing the frames and share on social media to help make a final decision.
• Lens Comparison—compare lenses for the patient’s prescription and view 3D models to quickly demonstrate the difference in thickness between standard and higher quality lenses.
• Dispensing Details—calculate the price, discuss options, make adjustments and record full dispensing details to reduce human error and increase dispensing values.
• Order Management—print or email to the supplier, import into your practice management system and manage outstanding orders to improve efficiency.
Vital Stats: Optisoft has been supplying practice management systems to independent opticians in the UK since 1989 and the company now has around 1,000 users of the software. iDispense is its first venture into iOS apps. The app is completely standalone, so anyone can use it, not just practices with an Optisoft system. Search ‘iDispense’ on the Apple App Store (iPad only). First Insight Automates Patient Check-in with New iPad App

Product: Patient Check-in App for iPad
Top Line: First Insight, developers of MaximEyes certified EHR and practice management software for eyecare professionals, released a new patient Check-in App for the iPad that integrates with MaximEyes software. The app eliminates cumbersome paper forms and clipboards, according to First Insight.
Close Up: The Check-in App creates a quick, private check-in experience so patients can confirm their demographic data and accept HIPAA and billing notifications.
“The Check-in App is great for capturing a patient’s electronic signature for HIPAA and other forms. Staff love the web portal that shows when patients checked in and how many are waiting for the front desk and optical,” said Jay Henry, OD, MS, Hermann & Henry Eye Care.
Vital Stats:
• Saves hundreds of dollars a month in wasted intake paperwork and sign-in sheets.
• Reduces wait times and creates a better patient experience.
• Saves time and eliminates re-keying demographic data and health history into MaximEyes with an auto sync.
• Ensures patient privacy and safety of data with HIPAA-compliant self check-in and electronic signatures.
• Quickly view your practice web dashboard to see arrival times, signed documentation and what parts of the check-in the patient completed.
