Costa is one of four organizations around the world receiving this award for its significant and demonstrable contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Costa said in a statement. The SDG Customer Awards are presented by RELX, a global provider of information and analytics for professional and business customers across industries. RELX supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in many ways, including by providing universal, sustainable access to information.The Untangle our Oceans campaign and sunglasses collection focus on bringing light to discarded fishing nets and gear in the ocean, one of the most harmful forms of plastic pollution in our waterways today. In partnership with Bureo, Costa gives discarded fishing nets new life in its Untangled Collection of lifestyle and performance sunglasses, which are made from 97 percent to 100 percent recycled fishing nets. Costa’s conservation efforts specifically speak to UN SDG Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.
