NEW YORK and MASON, Ohio— EssilorLuxottica plans to relocate the company's Mason, Ohio-based retail businesses and shared service functions to its offices in New York City and in Dallas, Texas. The company informed employees at the Mason offices on Friday. A company spokesperson told VMAIL that there are approximately 1,500 employees in the Mason offices and, while the company would not be providing detailed numbers, she noted that the company's EyeMed, IT, legal, North American call center, information security and other store systems' functions will remain in Mason.

The spokesperson said, "As we plan for the future of EssilorLuxottica in the U.S., bringing our teams closer together from a geographic standpoint will allow us to better collaborate and build a single culture that reflects the shared values of Essilor and Luxottica. For this reason, the company has made the decision to relocate Luxottica’s retail business and shared service functions currently in Mason, Ohio to our New York City and Dallas offices where they can work alongside their colleagues."

The spokesperson said, "Nearly every impacted employee has been offered a similar role in our New York City and Dallas locations, including a cost of living salary adjustment and relocation support, and no function will be moving before May 2022. We are proud to maintain our footprint in Mason and we will continue to grow and invest in EyeMed and other functions that will remain in our Mason home."
