LONGARONE—Marcolin and TBL Licensing announced the early extension of their licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Timberland optical frames and sunglasses. The partnership, originally signed in 2003, is now renewed for a further five years until December 2026. Timberland, a world leader in design and marketing of premium footwear, clothing and accessories for those who love outdoor life, tackles environmental challenges to minimize its impact on the planet from design to production.

Marcolin furthers Timberland’s values, with its eyewear range including responsible styles made from bio-based materials. Most frames in the collection contain at least 35 percent to a maximum of 80 percent bio-based content. They have also earned the Earthkeepers designation, meaning they are constructed out of at least 35 percent bio-based plastic.

As a signal of their long-lasting partnership, Marcolin and Timberland are teaming up with web platform Treedom for the planting of trees and forests worldwide. Within this global initiative, Marcolin has committed to plant over 10,000 trees by 2023, in alignment with Timberland’s long-standing tree planting efforts, with 12,000+ trees planted to date.
