MILAN—For the second year in a row, Thema Optical has been ranked in the top 50 sustainable companies in Italy according to the Italian Sustainability Award. The announcement was made at a ceremony held in Milan on October 11. The award, sponsored by Credit Suisse and Kon Group in partnership with ALTIS, RepRisk and Forbes, recognizes Italy’s most sustainable companies across a variety of categories. The Sustainability Award is open to all private companies with registered offices in Italy, which have achieved a turnover of at least €10 million and not more than €600 million in the last two years.

The companies are evaluated via an ESG rating, which considers objective, measurable and comparable parameters. Chosen companies “have distinguished themselves in terms of sustainable development, respect for the environment and social responsibility,” organizers explained.

A list of the 100 Most Sustainable Companies in Italy was also published in the October issue of Forbes Magazine in Italy. The list is in alphabetical order and does not list companies’ ESG ratings.
