PALM SPRINGS, Fla.—Adding to its presence in Florida, My Eyelab announced the signing of a three-location, multi-unit franchise agreement that marks its first move into the Orlando area, according to an announcement earlier this month.

The new franchise deal also will expand My Eyelab’s presence in the Fort Lauderdale Fla., market. My Eyelab is a division of Vision Precision Holdings, which operates 22 locations in Florida under the My Eyelab and Stanton Optical brands, a spokeswoman told dba.

Marc Brown, a longtime real estate broker, will be the franchise owner for the three new My Eyelab franchise locations and he joins the company with more than two decades of business ownership experience, according to the recent announcement. He also brings “a vast knowledge of business financials and operational management,” the announcement noted.

The first of Brown’s three franchise locations is scheduled to open as early as Feb. 1, 2018, in central Orlando. “The My Eyelab franchise opportunity stood out to me because of its market sustainability and the executive team’s receptiveness to new ideas and commitment to continuous innovation,” Brown said. “Vision care is such an important industry to invest in—it's how we see the world—and I wanted to enter a market that was truly helping fulfill a need in the community.”

In late November, My Eyelab announced a four-location franchise deal for the Miami metro area, as VMail reported. The Florida franchise deals come under the umbrella of a “strategic franchise program” that the company announced in June, as VMail reported. Florida is one of the states that is the focus of this franchising push, along with California, Texas and North Carolina, according to the June announcement.

Vision Precision Holdings is the 18th largest optical retailer in the U.S. market, as ranked by the Vision Monday Top 50 U.S. Optical Retailers 2017 report. At the end of 2016, Vision Precision Holdings had 55 stores under its corporate umbrella (44 Stanton Optical stores and 11 My Eyelab units).
