VIENNA, Va. and CINCINNATI—MyEyeDr. has acquired Wing Eyecare, the 21-location practice which has been serving the greater Cincinnati area for over 100 years. The details of the transaction, which closed on Aug. 5, were not disclosed. David Sheffer, chief growth officer of MyEyeDr. told VMAIL, "We are very proud to partner with Wing Eyecare, and to kickoff our expansion into Ohio and Kentucky in a meaningful way. Wing Eyecare is a great fit for the MyEyeDr family. It is a full-scope, doctor driven business with more than 25 optometrists in 21 optometric practices in the Ohio and Northern Kentucky markets, with a concentration around the Cincinnati metro area."

The group got its start back in 1914 when Dr. Philip A. Wing opened a small private optometry practice in Price Hill, an area located on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. The practice continued with family and other associates as it expanded across the region over the years. Diane Wing-Nagy and her husband, Dr. Thomas Nagy, who served as director of professional services with Wing, will continue as advisors to the team at MyEyeDr. and Brad Haller, who has been president, will also be working on operational issues and strategies with the MyEyeDr. team.

Diane Wing-Nagy told VMAIL, "We're very excited about the partnership; our number one priority has always been patient care and MyEyeDr. is all about that. We've always done everything we could to provide that care, as well as training for our staff to stay on top of the latest technologies and to keep our associates informed. I'm also happy for our patients and team members. There will be so many opportunities for them to grow."

Noted Dr. Nagy, "MyEyeDr. is going to continue to grow the group and take it to the next level. Their philosophy of the patient/doctor relationship is very aligned with ours."

Haller added, "I'm looking forward to the future. I'm going to learn a lot. Everyone we've worked with so far at the MyEyeDr. organization has been very knowledgeable and experienced and I'm excited to be involved with them."

Stated Sue Downes, MyEyeDr.'s CEO, "We are honored to have been selected by the Wing family to carry on their legacy of providing the best comprehensive eye care to the residents of greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Diane, Tom, Brad, and the entire Wing organization are first class and we are excited about our future together."

Sheffer said that as of today, MyEyeDr. will be operating a total of 540 offices.
