NEW YORK—Organizers of the DIOPS optical exhibition, which had been scheduled to be held April 8-10, 2020 in Daegu, Korea, issued a brief statement earlier today saying that their show would be postponed, due to concerns about the coronavirus in that country. In its message to exhibitors and visitors, the DIOPS Secretariat said, "First of all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all exhibitors and buyers who support the Daegu International Optical Show (DIOPS), held every year in Daegu, Korea.

"With the World Health Organization's (WHO) declaration of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a global health emergency, according to the guideline of the Daegu city government, the 19th annual Daegu International Optical show, which is scheduled for April 8-10 at EXCO, has been postponed. We sincerely apologize for the serious business difficulties that will arise from the postponement of DIOPS, Please understand that we have to make this decision because your safety is our priority. We will provide further information for future plans for DIOPS soon. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding."
