NEW YORK—The month of April is Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month, a time set aside “in an effort to educate the public on the increased risk for women and vision health issues, as well as steps that can be taken to prevent vision loss,” said Prevent Blindness. Prevent Blindness reports that women are at higher risk for vision impairment and blindness than men are, but less likely to receive treatment, making it extra important for ECPs everywhere to remind their patients just how important regular eyecare is.

Here, we’re taking a look at how some ECPs are spreading the word about Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month, and how you can do the same. In addition to the social media posts below, Prevent Blindness offers a wide variety of free resources, including videos, fact sheets, shareable social media graphics, and a listing in English and Spanish of financial assistance programs for eyecare, all online here.
