NEW YORK—If you’ve been on social media at all this week, you’ve probably noticed the Dolly Parton Challenge taking over your feed. The meme challenge—in which users share four different pictures of themselves to represent their different personalities on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn—kicked off when the country star shared her own interpretation of it, and since then it’s taken the internet by storm. Actors, musicians, athletes and other public figures all across the world have been sharing their own Dolly Parton Challenges this week, but the fun doesn’t stop there: the optical industry has also taken the Dolly Parton Challenge completely on board.

This week, we’re taking a look at a handful Dolly Parton Challenges from independents that prove just how many sides there are to independents—and just how much you can change up your look by swapping out your eyewear.

BELLA VISION: As the team at Bella Vision in Spartanburg, South Carolina put it, eyewear really can do it all when it comes to helping you dress for every occasion. To represent the four different social media personas, Bella Eyecare chose frames from Barton Perreira for LinkedIn, Safilo’s Jimmy Choo for Facebook, Randolph USA for Instagram and another Barton Perreira pair for Tinder. DR. BRIDGITTE: Bridgitte Shen Lee, OD, who works at Vision Optique in Houston, Texas, used the challenge to share the different sides to her personality—and she changed things up by swapping the Tinder image out with one representing Twitter. DR. MAITI: Sathi Maiti, OD, who practices out of Seattle, Washington, had a lot of fun with her take on the challenge, and incorporated props to help tell her story. Image via Dr. Maiti on Instagram.

IC CLEAR: IC Clear Optical, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, also took the eyewear route with their approach to the challenge. Image via IC Clear Optical on Instagram.

IRIS: She may not work in the industry as an independent, but it would be a mistake to leave eyewear legend Iris Apfel out of this round-up. The fashion icon shared her own take on the challenge on Instagram—and proved how sticking to one signature style of frames can still allow you to adapt to any situation.
