NEW YORK—In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Marcolin Eyewear corporate and field employees are working from home, including the company’s customer service team. Marcolin USA said its distribution center is fully operative with a reduced staff who are following enhanced health and safety measures. In addition, the company said in a letter to customers, a portion of its employees and sales force is temporarily on furlough. The balance of the workforce is experiencing a reduced workweek, and all employees in furlough will remain on payroll and have access to their health benefits from Marcolin. Marcolin USA said its leadership team will also forgo part of its salaries. These temporary actions are in effect from April 6 to the foreseeable future.

In a statement, the company said, "We resized the organization based on the current business needs. A reduced team remains in all departments to ensure our customers are supported at this time. Our customer services and sales teams are still very much focused on our partners and rapidly working on new tools to continue to support them remotely. Marcolin’s leadership team remains fully on board and will continue to work through this crisis to support the company and will forgo a part of their salary."

All of Marcolin USA's regional managers and some sales representatives are available via email, phone and video conferencing. Customers will be redirected to a regional manager or most appropriate contact if their sales representative is currently on furlough. The customer service team is accessible by email at customerservice@marcolin.com or by phone at (800) 345-8482 Monday – Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST and Friday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST. In addition, my.marcolin.com remains operational 24/7 and Marcolin will continue to update it and expand the training platform with resources including live ABO Webinars and Video Training Modules.

In a statement, the company said, “It is never easy to make decisions that impact people’s lives. However, we must continue as a company to take all necessary measures to mitigate the effects of the outbreak, to ensure that we come through stronger on the other side. We have the responsibility to act today to manage the unknown and to protect the future of our company, the health of our people, while also preserving our long-term ability to offer jobs and benefits to our employees… Please continue to take care of yourself and others. Our thoughts remain with you during this unprecedented time.”
