MEMPHIS—Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, recently recognized two outstanding alumni during its 2022 convocation ceremony. The school awarded its annual Lifetime Achievement Award to Sharon Berger Moscow, OD, and its annual Young Alumni Award to Erick Henderson, OD. Dr. Moscow has been in private practice in Georgia since 1980 after earning her Doctor of Optometry from SCO.She shares her practice with her family, all of whom also graduated from SCO—husband Billy Moscow (class of 1978), son Scott Moscow (class of 2013) and Michelle Moscow (class of 2017).

Dr. Moscow has been active in various leadership positions involving vision therapy and served on SCO’s board of trustees from 2008-2017.

Dr. Henderson was an active student leader until graduating from SCO in 2017. Today, as a professional optometrist, he continues to serve in leadership roles within the American Optometric Association and in the optometry community in Pennsylvania. In 2021, he was honored as the AOA’s Young OD of the Year. His wife, Erin Keim, also earned her Doctor of Optometry from SCO in 2017.
