DALLAS—Acuity Eyecare Group (AEG), an owner and operator of leading North American eyecare groups and optometry practices, announced that it has acquired Advanced Vision in Columbia, Missouri. Since 2003, Dr. Sahba Jalali and his staff has practiced full-scope optometry, serving the mid-Missouri region. The practice specializes in comprehensive eye exams, LASIK consultation, specialty contact lenses, corneal refractive therapy and the treatment of conditions related to women’s and youth eye health. Dr. Jalali has developed a strong dry eye and contact lens practice utilizing hybrid, scleral and multifocal contact lenses, Acuity said.  He developed his own myopia management program in 2005 which includes orthokeratology and other now demonstrated methods of managing the progression of myopia.

“In a practice transition partner I looked for an organization poised for strong growth and also one with a strong leadership team,” said Dr. Sahba Jalali of Advanced Vision. “What attracted me to AEG was their OD and owner-friendly process which facilitated a seamless transition. AEG also demonstrated excellence in the areas I wanted to improve in my practice, especially with their use of technology to create efficiencies.”

“We are privileged to welcome Dr. Sahba Jalali and Advanced Vision into the AEG family of practices,” said Eric Anderson, CEO of Acuity Eyecare Group. “Advanced Vision has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the highest standards of healthcare, aligning with AEG’s strategic vision to deliver a remarkable patient experience.”

“Advanced Vision represents AEG’s 19th practice in Missouri,” added Joe Terzo, chief development officer. “Potential partners see the quality of care that AEG has brought to nearby communities and they want to align with a proven organization committed to their success.”

Acuity Eyecare Group is a portfolio company of Riata Capital Group, a leading Dallas-based private equity investment firm. Founded in March 2017, AEG currently operates more than 120 locations operating under different regional brands across 11 states.
