SAN RAMON, Calif.—CooperVision’s contact lens rebate donation program, which benefits Optometry Giving Sight (OGS), has earned the company a Global Impact Award from 360insights, its rebate and incentive management partner. The award was presented to CooperVision at 360insights’ annual conference in Toronto in acknowledgement of the impact of the program, which has raised to date in 2019 the equivalent of more than 34,000 eye exams and pair of glasses for adults and children in underserved communities around the world. The generosity of CooperVision’s contact lens wearers continues to grow, as donations have increased more than 30 percent compared to 2018. Over the past eight years, the program has resulted in more than $800,000 donated to Optometry Giving Sight, CooperVision said in a statement.

“As a longstanding partner of Optometry Giving Sight, CooperVision has been thrilled with the response from our wearers over the years,” said Melissa Kiewe, senior director, customer marketing, CooperVision. “It is humbling to see people outside of our organization pledge their rebate dollars to a cause that aligns so closely with our values. We can’t thank our wearers enough for their generosity and the impact that they have made in the lives of so many around the world.”

Last year, CooperVision surpassed the $1 million milestone in cumulative funds raised by its employees in support of Optometry Giving Sight’s annual World Sight Day Challenge. Additionally, CooperVision’s parent company, CooperCompanies, recently announced that Optometry Giving Sight was selected as one of two global nonprofit beneficiaries of its new employee gift matching initiative, Cooper Giving.
