NEW YORK—Three more dates and venues have been added for the landmark seminar “Demystifying Private Equity and its Role in Optometry.” This series of teach-ins, which have been held in Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta, next takes place in Houston on Oct. 19. There still is time to register for the one-day event in Houston, which is free to optometric practice owners and associates. Additional venues are in Orlando on Nov. 9; Boston on Nov. 16; and in Costa Mesa, Calif. on Dec. 7. All dates are Saturdays, with the program beginning at 8:30 am.

The event consists of four teaching modules on the structure of consolidation deals between OD practices and private-equity backed companies. There also is a workshop on how to conduct a practice valuation. Following a luncheon, participants can meet one-on-one with representatives of companies acquiring practices.

The event is produced by Review of Optometric Business and is sponsored by Acuity Eyecare Group; Eyecare Partners, LLC; Kavanagh Consulting, LLC; Keplr Vision; MyEyeDr.; and VSP Ventures.
