DUBLIN, Ireland—Ocuco Ltd., a leading provider of omnichannel software solutions to the eyecare retail, optometry, and laboratory markets worldwide, has promoted Dermot Walsh to the position of chief revenue officer (CRO). In his new role, Walsh will be responsible for all revenue across all business units. He will sit on Ocuco's corporate management team and lead Ocuco's global sales and marketing team in the U.S. and abroad and will continue to work closely with other departments to ensure the customer's voice features heavily in product development and that customer service exceeds expectations, the company said.

"Dermot has been with Ocuco for over 17 years, and I am thrilled to add him to Ocuco's corporate management team," stated Leo Mac Canna, Ocuco's CEO. "He has almost single-handedly been responsible for Ocuco's success in the North American market and has a unique understanding of the optical industry and our customer's needs. He is an extension of our company values and I am looking forward to seeing him execute his vision over the coming years," he added.

Walsh began his career with Ocuco after completing a BSc (Hons) in information technology. Starting as a professional services engineer in the company's operations department, he developed a keen understanding of Acuitas, Ocuco's practice management system, and the software needs of optical retail chains, optical independents, and labs.

His aptitude for sales and business development was recognized during one of Ocuco's largest European product rollouts. Following this, he joined Ocuco's sales department, where he has successfully concluded many domestic and international deals and was promoted to vice president of sales for North America.

In his new role, Walsh replaces Alice Austin, formerly chief sales and marketing officer.

"I am delighted to take on the role of CRO in Ocuco and to build on the strong foundation Alice has put in place over the last 20 years. The last year has completely changed our industry's landscape and created great opportunities for companies to leverage technology to expand their business. Ocuco is uniquely positioned to help customers connect with their patients across all channels to provide patient care that exceeds expectations," said Walsh.

Ocuco's flagship products are Acuitas and Innovations. Acuitas software suite includes point of sale, practice management, EHR, and e-commerce software solutions for eyecare professionals. Innovations Enterprise, Ocuco's leading lab management solution, manages thousands of labs worldwide.
