DALLAS —Essilor of America has announced a new commercial organization aligned to customers to more effectively and seamlessly serve them and to drive more value for customers, shareholders and employees, the company said. Essilor explained that the move "continues to emphasize its relationship with its customers, putting their needs at the center of how it conducts business." To lead this approach, Daniel Liberman has been promoted to the new position of chief commercial officer (CCO). In addition, optical industry veteran Nchacha Etta will join Essilor of America as chief financial officer and senior vice president.

As CCO at Essilor of America, Liberman will re-align and empower Essilor’s commercial leaders to best support each customer with the right value proposition to make them successful. Liberman told VMail, "We have re-positioned our sales teams to serve regional and local independent eyecare professionals to enhance our support of them with local and customized solutions."

Prior to this role, Liberman was Essilor's senior vice president of alliances and business solutions. During his time at Essilor, Liberman was a key partner to the eye doctor alliance groups which grew to more than 8,000 member locations during his tenure. The members’ same office growth exceeded the growth of the market, and Vision Source was ranked the #1 U.S. Optical Retailer by Vision Monday the last three years. Liberman also led the Nassau OOGP Vision Group and new digital, dispensary management, integrated solutions divisions charged with creating innovative, multi-faceted solutions such as new supply chain models, optical dispensary management and omni-channel solutions.

Etta has a 20-plus year career in finance and business operations, global strategy, and management of multi-billion dollar global market leaders in the healthcare and medical devices, consumer packaged goods, software, pharmaceutical and private equity industries. He served the past nearly four years at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, where he held the position of vice president and CFO. During his time with J&J Vision, he led a team of 200+ employees in 54 countries, and was instrumental in turning around the global business to profitability and share gain, as well as successfully transitioned finance into a global shared services center, and served as a member of the board of . Prior to J&J Vision Care, Etta held progressively responsible finance leadership roles with Coca Cola, Microsoft, Eli Lilly, and The Carlyle Group.
