EssilorLuxottica said that the Nuance prototype drew attention from some of the largest media outlets in the world.
NEW YORK—At the CES show, which concluded in Las Vegas earlier this month, EssilorLuxottica, a first-time exhibitor, garnered national and international media attention for the new technologies showcased, including the Ray-Ban Meta smart eyewear, new VisionX, an intelligent and interconnected platform created by the group’s new HELIX division. Also much talked about in a range of U.S., business and tech media was the first-time showing of the prototype of its new Nuance Audio technology, providing advanced hearing solutions in a pair of eyeglasses for those with mild to moderate hearing impairment.

Senior executives from EssilorLuxottica were interviewed by major media outlets at the show.

The EssilorLuxottica booth, situated in the Digital Health section in CES’s North Hall, was a futuristic space. EssilorLuxottica said that the Nuance prototype drew attention from the largest media outlets in the world. CNN and CNBC and other major media interviewed EssilorLuxottica leaders and a range of reporters demoed the product, which is expected to launch in the U.S. in late 2024. Stories on Nuance ran in Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Forbes, CNET and others. Nuance received a CES 2024 Top Pick Award from Technilicious and Wareable.com named Nuance to its "Best in Show" list for 2024.

EssilorLuxottica has stated that hearing solutions is an underpenetrated market where, similar to vision care decades ago, consumers are averse to wearing traditional corrective devices for a number of reasons including their visibility, discomfort and price. Designed for consumers with mild to moderate hearing loss, Nuance Audio will eliminate the psychological barrier that has stood in the way of adoption of traditional hearing aids integrating proprietary state of-the- art open-ear hearing technology into fashionable eyeglasses, EssilorLuxottica executives said. VMAIL reported on the approach to Nuance Audio in December.

Attendees at CES checked out the Ray-Ban Meta smart eyewear, new VisionX, an intelligent and interconnected platform created by the group’s new HELIX division.
According to the Consumer Technology Association, CES drew more than 130,000 attendees this year, and over 4,000 exhibitors from more than 150 countries and regions.

EssilorLuxottica plans to feature Nuance Audio at Vision Expo East in New York this March, where U.S. ECPs will have a chance to experience the product in person.
