ST. LOUIS—EyeCare Partners LLC (ECP), a leading network of full scope medical optometry and ophthalmology practices, announced the acquisition of six new optometry, ophthalmology and eye surgery centers in regional markets around the country. ECP said it closed on the following acquisitions during the second quarter:
• Vitreous Retina Macula Specialists of New Jersey in Somerset, New Jersey (Vatsal Doshi, MD)
• Foothills Eye Care in King, North Carolina (Kevin Walker, OD)
• Arizona Eye Institute & Laser Center in Phoenix, Arizona (Emilio Justo, MD)
• 2020 Vision Care in St. Louis, Missouri (Melissa R. Lewis, OD)
• The Retina Clinic in Mine Hill, New Jersey (Katrik Patel, MD)
• Patel Retina Institute in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania (Sachin Patel, MD)

Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed. With these new acquisitions, ECP now operates across 15 states throughout the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southwest regions. ECP supports its practices with revenue cycle management, purchasing, marketing, human resources, recruiting, training, IT and other business functions to meet the growing demand for medically focused high-quality eyecare, the announcement said.

EyeCare Partners currently offers comprehensive medical eyecare services throughout Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. EyeCare Partners is backed by the global investment firm Partners Group. In December, Partners Group made “a significant equity investment” in EyeCare Partners, while ECP's management team and physician partners maintained their equity stake in the approximately 500-location practice group, as VMAIL previously reported.
