SAN DIEGO—Eyes On Eyecare, a digital publication that provides clinical and career education to the young generation of optometrists and eyecare professionals, has announced the Eyes On Career Fair virtual event, taking place May 21, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. PT (4 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET). This event will be one of the largest optometry career events of 2021, helping students and job seekers network and connect with employers in a year still largely without in-person career events.

The Eyes On Career Fair will feature more than 1,000 jobs for optometrists, ophthalmologists, techs and opticians in a variety of settings and locations. Leading eyecare employers will staff virtual booths where attendees will be able to live chat with employers, review open positions, and learn more about company culture and benefits.

“Most optometry schools have had to cancel in-person career and networking events due to the ongoing pandemic. As the leading job and career development resource in optometry, we felt it was important to do our part and support fourth-year optometry students and clinicians looking for work this year,” said Brett Kestenbaum, Eyes On Eyecare’s co-founder and chief operating officer. “We’re excited to build on our 10 years of experience providing free career education, advice, and events with this interactive event.”

In addition to networking opportunities, the Eyes On Career Fair will feature eight live education sessions covering topics such as interviewing tips, financial guidance, and how to find ownership opportunities. The event will also include $1,500 in raffles and giveaways for registrants and attendees.
