CALGARY, Alberta—FYidoctors, a leading optometrist-controlled eyecare company, said Monday that it has acquired Aesthetic Medical Network Inc. (AMNI), a network comprised of Canada’s leading aesthetic medicine doctors. Through the new partnership, AMNI will have the opportunity to further position the network and its members as the leading experts in the Canadian medical aesthetics space. In addition, FYidoctors said the deal will allow the network “to fuel future expansion plans, funding further market development and practice support initiatives.” The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Launched in 2017 by five founding partners, AMNI provides its members with a variety of benefits, including leading clinical education, competitive supplier pricing and access to practice management and market expansion resources. Membership is offered through an exclusive invite and referral only basis and provides access to connect, share and build relationships with a network of leading experts across the medical aesthetics field.

In December 2019, FYidoctors entered the medical aesthetics industry with the acquisition of ReNue medical aesthetics clinics, founded by Dr. Jason McWhirter, as VMAIL reported.

“This new strategic partnership will help shape the future of aesthetic medicine in Canada,” AMNI co-founder Stuart Fowler said in the announcement. “We are happy to have found a partner in FYidoctors that holds a proven track record in providing exceptional value for both doctors and patients. Working with FYidoctors will help AMNI further its commitment to delivering the best in aesthetic medicine and elevating the experience of its members.”

McWhirter, who is now vice president and chief medical officer of FYidoctors’ medical aesthetics division, said in Monday’s announcement that even in the current health climate, “demand for aesthetic medicine continues to grow and through this exciting new partnership with AMNI we are uniquely positioned to continue providing excellence in patient care.”

He added, “As FYidoctors’ investment grows within the industry, we look forward to complementing the AMNI members’ in-depth experience and knowledge with our track record of back-office expertise and increased buying power.”

AMNI, through its network of recognized experts and its focus on ethics and patient safety, has over the years “demonstrated its commitment to providing the highest standard in aesthetic medicine, and taken a doctor-led, patient-centric approach in the field,” the announcement noted.
