NEW YORK—On the heels of its recent expansion in the luxury optical sector, Luxury Optical Holdings (LOH)  has acquired Leonard Opticians Ltd., the high end optical operation with two stores in New York and one in Los Angeles.

The deal became effective Sept. 16, Glenn Reisch, LOH’s president, told VMail, adding that the Leonard’s management team will continue on with the business. Arthur Leonard, Leonard’s president, will continue as a consultant to LOH, he said.

“We are very pleased to be able to announce this new addition to our portfolio,” said Reisch. “Leonard Opticians fits beautifully with our premium luxury business. The deal brings us a larger presence in two markets where we already have a position along with the extensive and knowledgeable experience of Arthur and his team. It also brings our total LOH portfolio of premiere eyewear stores to 49 throughout the United States.”

In other news, LOH has converted its Optica store in Los Angeles to the Morgenthal Frederics brand. It also plans to include the Morgenthal Frederics brand in the Leonard Opticians stores. Stated Reisch, “Since adding Morgenthal Frederics locations in Aspen, Chicago and Palm Beach last year, we felt the time was right for a Beverly Hills flagship as we continue to bring our iconic New York brand to premier locations throughout the country. The conversion marks the 10th Morgenthal Frederics location in the country and the fifth outside of New York.
