AMITYVILLE, NY—New York Eye has announced the appointment of Eileen Goldman Sobel as national sales director. In this role, Sobel will be responsible for hiring, training and overseeing the representatives serving independent eyecare professionals. She will also be sharing the responsibility of managing national and regional key accounts with Jan Phillips, vice president of sales. Sobel is assuming the role and responsibilities of Lucy Korn, vice president of sales who will retire at the end of March.

Sobel has over 30 years of experience in the industry, ranging from optical sales and regional management to key account responsibilities. For the past 18 years, Sobel represented De Rigo REM as its Midwest regional manager. Her responsibilities included the recruiting and training of the sales team as well as servicing key accounts.
