NEW YORK—Each fall, the Women In Optometry Theia Awards of Excellence honor women optometrists, nominated by their peers and selected by their colleagues on the WO advisory board. The Theia Awards are named for Theia, the Greek goddess of vision or sight. The Fifth Annual Theia Awards will be held in conjunction with the WO Leadership event as part of the American Academy of Optometry virtual program in October. Nominations are now open for ODs to be honored in the categories of leadership, education, mentoring and innovation.

A fifth category is reserved for young ODs, those who have graduated within the past 10 years. Readers may submit one or more nominations here.

Nominations close on Sunday, Aug. 23.
