ISELIN, N.J.—Omni Ophthalmic Management Consultants, a portfolio company of NMS Capital (NMS), has announced a new strategic partnership with Erie Retinal Surgery, a market-leading regional provider of medical-surgical retinal services in Western Pennsylvania. The terms of the transaction announced earlier this month were not disclosed. Headquartered in Erie, Pa., Erie Retinal Surgery has positioned itself at the forefront of eyecare for almost 40 years and currently employs five board-certified doctors. Through its two locations, including an injection suite, Erie offers comprehensive vision care services to approximately 40,000 patients annually.

“Erie helps our platform expand further west in Pennsylvania, adding additional density in an existing state with two additional locations, including one injection suite, while also further diversifying our service mix through increased retina services,” Dr. Christopher Quinn, chief executive of Omni, said in the announcement. “Erie’s reputation in the Pennsylvania market is unparalleled and we are excited to begin our partnership with Drs. Dailey, Baldwin, Babel and their team.”

Dr. J.P. Dailey, Erie’s owner and a surgeon added, “We are excited to partner with Omni and the opportunity it presents for our doctors and employees alike to continue building upon the strong foundation already in place. [We] believe this partnership will help us continue providing excellent care to the patients in our community.”

Luis Gonzalez, a partner at the investment firm NMS, noted that the partnership with Erie is Omni’s seventh. It allows the company to continue its expansion west in Pennsylvania and further solidifies its presence as one of the largest ophthalmology groups in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Omni has more than 70 providers across nearly 30 practice locations, including several ambulatory surgery centers, Gonzalez said.

Cross Keys Capital served as exclusive financial advisor to Erie Retinal Surgery on the transaction.
